Egg Recall

The government is recalling more than half a billion eggs tainted by salmonella from two Iowa farms. The USDA says it doesn't have near enough inspectors to keep watch on these producers. Their solution? More inspectors.

How about fewer big egg farms - and a lot more small, local farms producing eggs from free-range chickens, which are far safer and more nutritious than the industrial kind. Our collective health has gotten so bad because things are so out of scale. An army of USDA inspectors will do nothing to improve the quality of eggs coming from these large, commercial producers.

The economical and healthy decision lies with the consumer: Buy free range eggs. They taste good, and they won't kill you. In fact, quite the opposite.
